Brother MFC-J1010DW Driver and Software Download. For its appearance alone, the Brother MFC-J1010DW is difficult to be lured. It is squat, which is excellent, but the color of foggy January afternoons or the square fax machines from the 1980s best describes its dull grey façade. Once you look past the appearance, there are many functions and sophisticated paper-handling options to appreciate.
The 150-sheet cassette in the base of this MFP inserts and exits with a bit of a clatter. You can push it straight back up against a wall because there isn’t a paper tray at the back. It also doesn’t require a lot of top clearance. The front right panel compartment holds the printer’s four ink cartridges.

Even though several other Brother MFPs have excellent touchscreen interfaces, the MFC-mix J1010DW’s of a small color screen and physical buttons is still straightforward. After manually connecting to a wireless network via the menu, the printer updated its own firmware and was ready to use.
The Brother MFC-J1010DW includes a capability for sending and receiving faxes in addition to print, scan, and copy operations because it is specifically designed for small home offices. A 20-sheet ADF has therefore been added to the flatbed scanner on top, enabling unattended multi-page copies or faxes.
Although disappointing, this MFP’s lack of support for double-sided scanning is understandable given its affordable pricing. Fortunately, the printer does enable duplex printing, which saves paper and makes it simple to create documents with a professional appearance. If the original cartridges for this printer run out of ink, you can swap them out for 200-page black, cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges. However, the more expensive “XL” items—rated at 500 pages—will ultimately turn out to be more advantageous.
