HP Envy 6455e Driver and Software Download. The HP Envy 6455e is an entry-level all-in-one printer that costs. It is derived from the HP Envy Pro 6455, which was reviewed here in June 2020. The 6455e comes with a complimentary six-month subscription to HP’s Instant Ink cartridge-replacement program, much as we saw with the larger and more capable HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e (one of PCMag’s Best of the Year for 2021).
The Envy 6455e is a good option for families and home offices with somewhat low print and copy needs—say, 100 to 200 pages per month—because it prints nicely, if slowly, is inexpensive to buy, and is easy to use. The Envy 6455e is slightly smaller than some of its direct rivals, including Canon’s Pixma TR7020, Brother’s MFC-J805DW, and Epson’s Expression Premium XP-6000 Small-in-One.

It is exactly the same size and girth as last year’s model, measuring 6.8 by 17 by 14.2 inches (HWD) and weighing a trim 13.6 pounds. The addition of a scanner—preferably one with an automated document feeder (ADF) for copying or scanning many sheets without having to set them on the glass one at a time—is what distinguishes a printer from an all-in-one (AIO).
The Epson XP-6000 has no ADF, while the Brother’s only holds 20 pages. The Pixma TR7020 is able to match the HP with a 35-page ADF, but it has a smaller capacity than the 6455e’s. All three of these ADFs require you to manually flip a stack of page sides after they have been captured in order to scan the opposite sides, which an auto-duplexing ADF eliminates from your workload.
The Envy 6455e sports a stylish, incredibly basic control interface, just like a few other recent HP printers and AIOs (shown above). You are not provided with a display for previewing pictures and other document kinds. Instead, HP’s Smart App software is used to access the majority of setup options for the printer itself as well as for straightforward operations like creating copies or printing from a favourite cloud website.
