HP Envy Inspire 7955e Driver and Software Download. HP claims that their multifunction inkjet Envy Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer, intended for family rooms or home offices, has “first-of-its-kind…advanced photo functions.” More specifically, if you subscribe to HP’s HP Plus plan, you receive six free months of the company’s Instant Ink subscription or cartridge-delivery service. (See our explanation of Instant Ink and HP Plus.)
The Inspire 7955e’s purchase price is extravagant when compared to a number of photo-centric competitors with higher capacity or longer feature lists, but thanks to the subscription, its operational costs are sufficiently cheap to offset that. Despite having a two-cartridge instead of a four-cartridge setup, this AIO has a lot going for it if you can accept that trade-off.

The Envy Inspire 7955e is a replacement for the Envy Photo 7855, which was reviewed here in 2017. Despite their dissimilar appearances. The original all-in-one was matte black with curved and slanted chassis surfaces; the updated one is white and boxy-looking. It measures 9.2 by 18.1 by 15.1 inches (HWD), with its trays closed, and weighs 17 pounds. It is similar in size and girth.
In comparison to other consumer-grade, photo-optimized AIOs like the Canon Pixma TS8320 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One, the bulk-ink Pixma G620 Wireless MegaTank Photo Printer, and the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500, the Inspire is a little bit bigger. However, a few others, such as the Canon Pixma TR8620 and Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One, are a little bit taller and heavier. (If you believe that this market is congested, you are correct.)
Automatic document feeder (ADF) mechanisms, which let you copy or scan multipage documents without having to lay your sheets on the glass one at a time, are one reason certain AIOs are a little thicker. The manual duplexing 35-sheet ADF on the Envy Inspire 7955e prevents it from automatically scanning double-sided multipage documents.
Compared to the Envy Inspire 7955e, the previous HP Envy Photo 7855 offered more robust networking options, including support for Ethernet in addition to Wi-Fi and a USB cable. Only the latter two are available with the 7955e along with mobile printing through the HP Smart App, Apple AirPrint, Mopria, and Chrome OS. In order to set up the printer from your phone or tablet, it can also use a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection. In contrast to the Inspire, the 7855 could print from a USB flash drive or SD memory card.
