Epson Stylus Photo RX650 Driver and Software Download. It is almost at the point where you would have to have very compelling reasons not to get a multi-function device rather than a separate printer and scanner. The RX650 emphasises this by combining all but one of what I now consider to be the main functions into a single device. A true fax capability is the missing feature.
For some reason, Epson consistently forgets to include this, and while a computer-based faxing solution works for many people, I prefer manual faxing so that I can send and receive faxes even when my computers are switched off. Aside from the missing fax, this tablet is quite well-equipped. It also burns CDs, which is a necessary in my opinion.

It is a six-color picture printer with the same high resolution as Epson’s existing printers. As a result, you receive superb photo printing capabilities that are only surpassed by some of the most recent photo printers that have more than six colours. It prints an A4 photo in 1 minute, 47 seconds when set for speed and 4 minutes, 15 seconds when set for quality on Epson’s new Ultra Glossy Photo Paper (see review).
The quality enhancement is subtle but evident, but only when viewed closely. So you can choose the speed route for all typical purposes because you can’t tell the difference at normal viewing distances.The RX650 employs dye inks, so expect the display to last no more than 20 years. This is the one area where this device falls short as a serious do-it-all device for photographers.
Scanning is quick, with good colour accuracy and high resolution. The scanner is capable of doing the majority of scanning tasks, with the exception of specialised film scanning, which requires the best resolution and quality. The point is, five years ago, a scanner of this calibre would have been a dedicated photo scanner. Not any longer. It will satisfy the majority of people’s requirements.
Copying makes use of the scanning and printing functions and works as expected. This is an excellent instrument. Fast, quiet, and with individual ink cartridges, it should be fairly priced. Its disadvantages include the usage of dye inks, which results in a short display life, and the lack of an actual fax machine. Apart from that, if it is available in your country, it is absolutely worth a look.
